Diane Timewell BSc MBAcC BA MRSS

Diane is a highly experienced practitioner with over 30 years clinical experience successfully treating all kinds of physical and emotional issues.

Diane first became interested in Oriental medicine in the early 1990’s when she lived in the Far East for three years. She subsequently studied Shiatsu Massage for four years gaining a post-graduate certificate in 1998. Diane worked extensively as a Shiatsu therapist where she took a special interest in the field of back pain.

She later went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture at the University of Westminster where she gained a BSc (hons) degree. This required the study of both Chinese and Western medicine.

For the past 14 years, Diane has been intensively studying Kiiko Matsumoto Style (KMS) acupuncture which combines Western scientific understandings of anatomy, physiology and pathology with ancient Chinese understandings of how the body works as a whole.

Diane first became aware of Kiiko Matsumoto way back in 1993 but it wasn’t until 2010 that she finally attended one of Kiiko’s legendary weekend seminars and was immediately inspired by the clinical mastery Kiiko possesses and imparts to her students.

Kiiko puts her money where her mouth is! Unlike other courses which ‘talk’ about how to treat, Diane witnessed Kiiko treat difficult patient after patient, almost miraculously at times, with incredible clinical results. The ability to gain diagnostic clues from the patient’s body which leads to  correct treatment is Kiiko’s genius and the root of her clinical success. This is what Diane had been looking for. She was hooked!

Fast forward 14 years and Diane still studies as hard today as she ever has. Diane believes that the key to becoming the most effective practitioner is to be committed to continuous learning in this field which is her life’s work and passion.

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, Kiiko, and her main students in USA, put KMS learning online. In 2022, Diane was the first person in the UK to be awarded the KMS certificate for 150 hrs of this online learning.

As well as treating the usual symptoms that acupuncture treatment is well-known for – back, neck, shoulder pain, women’s issues, fertility, headaches… Diane also takes a particular interest in how stress affects the body. Often at the root of many of our day-to-day symptoms, reducing stress often helps resolve many conditions such as IBS, unexplained infertility, anxiety, low immunity and fatigue.

Diane is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the major regulatory body in the UK. She is fully insured and works to strict standards as laid down by the Department of Health.

Diane was awarded the Nutri-Centre Prize for merit in her studies of Acupuncture in 2005.

She also holds a BA (Joint Hons) degree in English and Psychology.
